Choose to let it go

Today's topic... let negativity go.


I will share with you a simple process to let negative emotions and thoughts go, so you can feel better and experience a happier life. I'm also inviting you to the Full Moon Retreat where we will practice the below process and much more, so make sure to click on the link.


When you let go the negative emotions and/or thoughts from your personal space, you feel better and, your life circumstances change.  Although many agree with this previous statement, the question I get from my clients is "But how?". It's actually quite a simple process and once you do it a few times, it becomes habit.


However, awareness is also key.


So how aware are you of the negative thoughts and/or emotions that exist in your personal energy space? Do you notice that your thinking might be the cause of the unpleasant feelings you might have? Do you blame the outside world for how you feel? What about unconscious energetics? The fact is, we are 100% responsible for how we think and feel. Yes, our 'growing up' environment certainly can have an impact on how we think and feel today, but now as an adult, we can change that. 


So where do we start? Here's the simple and powerful formula.


  1. Pause: When you are not feeling the greatest or you catch yourself in a whirlwind of thoughts that are overwhelming and not helpful, PAUSE. Take a conscious breath and notice what's going on with you. 

  2. Observe: Notice what's going on and how you are feeling. Quickly identify the feelings/emotions you are experiencing. Tightness in chest, fast heartbeat (feelings) or depression, overwhelm, frustration (emotions). Maybe you also catch yourself with self-critical thoughts like "you idiot"

  3. Let it go: As you notice the feeling and/or thoughts (in present time where you have all of the power to choose), tell yourself "I let go of this anger" or "I let go of this tightness in my chest" or "I let go of this self-criticism". Take another conscious breathe and relax. It's gone!

  4. Choose: In present time, you can command yourself to feel differently. So how do you want to feel? Capable? Comfortable? Powerful? Pleased with yourself? Choose how you want to feel and feel it. See what's really interesting is that when you focus on how you want to FEEL AND take the time to FEEL it, it changes everything in and around you. 


We underestimate what we can do in the present moment and only in the present moment do we have the power to change how we feel, our course of action, and our reality.
